  • GeoData.gov  resource of U.S. federal, state, and local geospatial data.
  • The National Map USGS provides several data layers at national scale for download through an interactive map viewer.
  • USGS Seamless Data Distribution System Free downloads of national base layers including orthoimagery, national elevation data, national land cover, Shuttle Radar Topography, Bureau of Transportation (roads), etc.
  • GeoData Portal from United Nations Environment Programme. Topics covered include themes like Freshwater, Population, Forests, Emissions, Climate, Disasters, Health and GDP.

Many of the public and private business statistical sources list information by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.

International:

  • Wolrd Bank Data Their Data Catalog provides download access to over 8,000 indicators from World Bank data sets. Indicators include: agricultural development, economic policy, education, health & more

  • Eurostat Detailed statistics on the EU and candidate countries, and various statistical publications for sale.

  • UN Data  Includes UN statistical databases in education, employment, energy, environment, food and agriculture, health, human development, industry, information and communication technology, national accounts, population, refugees, trade and tourism.
