Requesting Films from Kanopy

Kanopy films are able to be requested by filling out a Purchase Request Form via the Kanopy website (link below).

Requests for Kanopy films are processed during standard campus office hours, 8:00- 4:30 on Mondays through Fridays. Requests are not monitored over the weekend or on holidays when campus is closed.

Please allow at least one business day (weekday/non-holiday) for your request to be processed.

You do not need to sign in via the "Log In" button in the upper-right of the screen. You may be prompted to log in with your Falcon ID (the same login screen that you see when accessing Canvas or other resources from off-campus).

Finding, Using, and Sharing Kanopy Films

Kanopy has a link for each film for sharing purposes available via the "Share" link underneath the player/viewing area for each film.

Records for the individual movies are not currently available via searches in Search at UW.

Public performance rights are already included in the license.

Transcripts for accessibility and citation purposes are either available in the "More" tab underneath the video once the video has begun playing or available via a request button. If you have any questions about requesting video transcripts, we can share those questions with Kanopy on your behalf.

Our license includes study abroad programs but not students or faculty from other campuses (this is a campus-specific license, not a UW System one-we cannot use Kanopy content from other UW libraries and they cannot use ours). If you have questions about how this license applies to your course, please contact the Library.
