Distance Learners: Library Resources

A guide for distance learners on how to access library materials.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Chalmer Davee Library's guide for Distance Learners!  We want you to know that you can access all of the materials in the UWRF library that are available to students on campus. This guide will tell you what is available to you, and how to get resources for your research projects.

Click on the blue tabs to navigate through this guide.

Please contact us with any questions! (See box below for contact information.)

Library Basics

To find materials owned by the Chalmer Davee Library, search Search@UW. This will search material that is physically located in the library (books, government documents, audio/visual materials), as well as electronic materials (journal articles, e-books, streaming media, etc.), as well as search for books & media at UW libraries state wide.

You will be able to access many electronic items (eBooks, electronic journal articles, streaming media, etc.) from off campus as long as you sign in to Search@UW with your campus w# and password.

To obtain a book or article the library does not have, you can request the item for free through UW Libraries Requests.

Consult the Online Writing Lab for help with the process of writing your paper.
