Curriculum Materials Collection (CMC)

Wisconsin has a piece of legislation commonly referred to as "Act 31" which requires that American Indian studies be taught at least three times throughout a K-12's student's education. Some of the common themes that this legislation hoped to address is the right to self-govern (tribal sovereignty), treaty rights, and showing American Indian Nations of Wisconsin (also sometimes referred to as First Nations) as vibrant communities of the present rather than images of the past.
